Great fish.I impressed that youv'e had such great instant success which is what Ive had myself with this lure.
Great to see that the Smith Cherry Blood that works so well for sea trout, trout and bass in Ireland worked for you so quickly in Norway .Ive had great reports from customers using this difficult to get lure.Certainly one to have in your lure box always.
Sea trout are called the fish of a thousand casts. With the help of Smith we certainly proved that that that isn't always the case.

Found Henrys fishing tackle last year on the web. Certain plugs and lures cannot be obtained in Norway. I purchased several plugs for bass after advise from Henry, although the season has started slow due to two severe winters and thick ice,and a bad start to the summer, but a few rapports are comming in on bass catches.I like to fish mainly for sea trout, and took contackt with Henry on lures for sea trout, three days later came a lure called smith cherry blood LL70s (70) the best imatasion i have seen of a sprat (what we call a brisling). Due to to much work and under payed was it time for a two week break. Now was the time to try the smith cherry blood!!!!!came to a place wich is a hot spot for sea trout started fishing 03.45,04.15 was hit by a steam train, after three good runsof up to 30mtrs and ten minutes later came my favourite fish 1.9 kg in the bag and ready for the smoke oven today. Thank you Henry for great service and most of all good advise and knowledge of lures both for bass and sea trout, watch this space on lures for bass!!!!!!!! Mvh. Kjetil Norway.

Andy,
I cant let you have any more Feed Shallows.Docs orders.
Its true Ive been asleep on this blog.Probably something to do with the Artic winter we just had.
I'm kind of sorry that I didn't make my annual November trip to Gambia in West Africa where its a scorching 35-40C every day with interesting fishing to be had and friendly helpful people everywhere there.
The interesting fishing comes in the form of lure fishing for African Toro or Horse Eye Jack which take mainly large fast worked topwater plugs.Hooking one of these Jacks for the first time in shallow water is an eye opener.Nothing prepares you for the vicious tackle smashing take then the sheer speed and power of the runs and the length of the fight relative to the fishes size.In the photo is a Jack circa 20lb which took 25 mins to land.I still have my sunglasses on because when I hooked the fish it was sunny but when it was landed it was dark. With me was Pat Daly and Paddy Cunningham of Sportscast Ireland both of whom added to the catch at the bottom of pic here:
www.henrystackleshop.com/tackletalk/wp-content/uploads/gambia-20lb-jack.jpg
Occasionally tarpon in the 30-60lb bracket are hooked but on these plugs the losses are as high as 90% and they really have to be targeted specifically.
Other fish that come to the topwaters are Red Snapper and Queenfish and which also are great scrappers not to mention the acrobatic Barracuda.
Bring on the Summer!

I HAVE BEEN SHORE ANGLING FOR BASS FOR BOUT TWELVE YEARS USING BAIT ONLY BUT HAVE RECENTLY MADE THE DECISION TO HUNT THEM USING LURES FOR THE COMING YEAR AHEAD. I USUALLY FISH THE BEACHES OF THE DINGLE PENINSULA SUCH AS BALLYHEIGE AND INCH STRAND WITH A FAIR SUCCESS RATE BUT COMING FROM DUBLIN I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANY LURE ANGLERS OUT THERE THAT MIGHT BE USING THIS BLOG THAT COULD POINT ME TOWARDS ONE OR TWO MARKS IN DUBLIN I COULD TRY THIS SUMMER. I HAVE HEARD RUMOURS OF PORTRANE,SUTTON AND MALAHIDE TROWIN UP FISH TO LURES BUT NO REAL SOLID ADVICE. I HAVE CAUGHT BASS ON BAIT IN PORTMARNOCK A FEW YEARS BACK BUT REMAIN SCEPTICAL , ANY ADVICE ON THIS SUBJECT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS

ye they were the biggest cod ive caught in years from the open coast all though i can let other dublin shore anglers in on my secret cod mark which is killiney. For years now ive been able to lure fairly big fish out of the rocks there just past the tea rooms with not much effort but only in eary autumn from late august to mid october. My advice is to head straight down into the rough ground armed with a bucket full of leads and a rg wallet full of pulley rigs and fish the slack the tide. The only bait worth trying here is fresh peeler crab although mussel can be used to bulk baits up... I no alot of dublin anglers overlook this mark choosing to head down the coast to wexford (which i also do myself) but I can assure you that I know this mark like the back of my hand and the sport can be excellent especially in autumn.I have landed personal best cod to 7lb,wrasse to 5lb and my biggest ever bass which topped the scales at over 11lb all within a 50yrd stretch on this beach. For those aren up to tackling the rocks and loosing gear the beach its self ofers exceppional flatfish , coalies , dogfish etc all year round and i have personally witnessed local lads land decent bass on lures straight from the beach. I was onto tom fogarty henry and i should be in kilcoole on the 17th
